Today we held interviews with the 27 applicants seeking to be accepted into this YDM program. We did not advertise publically, but sent text messages to our local partners and community leaders. Over 40 young people responded. After a brief orientation we gave out the applications with specific instructions. We were impressed by those who came today showing genuine desire to be invited into the program. It was a challenge for us afterwards... but we managed to select 11 to begin the program next Tuesday. Most have not completed grade 10, several are single parents, a few are orphans, and most have little or no relationship with their father. Please keep us and our staff in prayer as the next three months hold a great deal of work -- and we desperately need the stamina, energy and creativity to be successful.
